I wanted to convey a sense of tranquility with this koi resting on a stylized pond bottom, with the undulating patterns suggesting an aquatic environment. Years ago, one of our dogs was so enthralled by the sight of a koi in a rather large pond at one of my galleries, that she accidentally fell into the water. To her astonishment, it was about five feet deep, and she immediately headed for land. Needless to say, she was forever “hooked” on looking for fish in ponds but a bit more cautious in her fervor to catch one.
