Of all the shark species, I find hammerheads to be the most interesting looking: unique and almost prehistoric. I first thought about a hammerhead sculpture almost 15 years ago, and as often happens, once I finally started working on this piece, it evolved and morphed into something beyond my initial idea. I noticed that as I tightened the curve and carried this design down through the swirled base, it enhanced the spiraling motion and created an interesting, continuous line.
