Silent Forest

oil on cradled board
24 x 36 in.
27.5 x 39.5 in. (framed)
This man is an experienced hunter. He hunts for food and clothing for his family. He is silent like the forest. His success is dependent on his skill. He knows the ways of the forest and the animals that inhabit it, as did his ancestors who came before him, and from whom he learned. This painting is not so much about the results of a successful hunt as it is about the perpetuation and reverence of life.
