This wagon was used to take this young girl and her family across the Oregon trail. It was then left out on their pasture. It once took them across the landscape, but now it’s become a part of the landscape. I’m lucky enough that I live in an area where nearby there’s a family ranch in which this wagon actually sits and is part of that family’s history. It evoked something in me that wanted to elaborate on the history of this wagon and intertwine it with the beauty of a living soul. For me there is a spiritual connection in keeping the memories of the past alive.
