These unusual, goat-like animals look awkward walking along the flats, but once in steep terrain, they are surprisingly agile and move effortlessly from one inaccessible ledge to another. During my research, I talked with several guides who have observed aoudads leaping down 60-foot rock faces. As I worked through different composition ideas, I decided a wall mount would allow one to imagine this animal flying off a cliff, like a base jumper.
