Several red-tailed hawks have made their nests in trees at the top of our street. They have a wingspan of three to four feet and can be seen soaring and riding the thermal wind currents throughout most of North America and Canada. According to Native Americans, hawks are guardians; they represent honesty and clear vision. When they fly against the sun in the early evening, a flash of red glistens and shows briefly as they spiral away.
