A towering landmark some seven stories high in the California desert, Giant Rock has a colorful history, including serving as a roof for Frank Critzer, a hermit who excavated and lived underneath it. It also was a point of interest to George Van Tassel, who operated a small airport at the site, held UFO conventions there, and built the nearby Integratron.
