Two years ago, in Colorado, we had the most beautiful turning of the leaves. Whatever contributes to change in the fall colors must have been just right, especially for the oaks, maple, and aspen. This inspired several pieces for me and also new patinas we came up with to the match the leaves. As owls are a popular subject with me, it was just natural to pair them up with maple leaves. For reference, I used leaves from several different varieties of maple trees. The fall colors brought back memories of growing up in the Northwoods of Wisconsin.
