G. Russell Case
![]() |
Out of northern Utah, G. Russell Case makes his home in Brigham City, Utah. While surrounded by the Rocky Mountains in which he is often out painting, he is always drawn back to the desert with its simple shapes, hard lines, shadows, and vastness. Motivated by his father at an early age, Case began his career with watercolor, later transitioning to oil. His sweeping, idealized versions of the Western landscape are compositions that combine the beauty of the natural world with the rich imagination and originality of an artist’s mind. Case’s many awards include the 2015 Artists’ Choice, 2012 Best of Show, and 2010 Featured Artist at the Coors Western Art Exhibit & Sale, and the 2004 Golden Thunderbird Award for Best of Show, and Best of Show, People’s Choice, and Artists’ Choice awards at the Maynard Dixon Country Invitational. He has also received Best of Show and First Place Oil Painting awards at the Phippen Museum’s Western Art Show & Sale. His work is in the permanent collections of the National Cowboy Hall of Fame, Oklahoma City; Phippen Museum, Prescott, Arizona; Springville Museum, Utah; Brigham City Museum of Fine Art, Brigham City, Utah; and Sears Art Museum at Dixie College, St. George, Utah, and has been featured in Southwest Art, Western Art & Architecture, and Western Art Collector. Russell Case is represented by Astoria Fine Art, Jackson, Wyoming; Bingham Gallery, Mount Carmel, Utah; Bischoff’s Gallery, Scottsdale, Arizona; David Ericson Fine Art, Salt Lake City, Utah; Gerald Peters Gallery, Santa Fe, New Mexico; Maxwell Alexander Gallery, Los Angeles, California; Summit Fine Art, Billings, Montana; and Wood River Fine Arts, Ketchum, Idaho. |
