Vista Point

The Mojave Desert is filled with things formed over time, like ancient cinder cones and plants that grow slowly. I painted this piece on location over the course of a few days, building the composition and forms slowly as well. I like the unconventional design of Joshua trees, sculptural and growing in every direction, even in from the side of the canvas.
