The Road We Travel

A lot of travel routes interweave across this quiet part of the California desert. Some, such as the plane traveling overhead, plunge into deep space, while others, including train tracks and a two-lane highway, bisect the canvas. Though the latter two are hidden from our vantage point, the middle-distant trees and dirt mounds mark their course. While most of those conduits are designed for speed and efficiency, the uneven dirt road meanders across the topography of the landscape, zigzagging around brush and utility poles.
