Roses and Hydrangeas

Shades of violet and magenta roses complement the deep greens of dense leaves and sprigs of pale hydrangeas. Even though this is an oil painting, I was inspired by the organic nature of watercolors and wanted to infuse some of those beautifully sporadic and transparent qualities into an oil still life.
