The story I have chosen to tell on this clay vessel is one about the whitetail deer. People have always been fascinated with deer and their antlers. Some of the earliest images can be found painted on cave walls and etched in stones. Deer antlers and hides are used in ceremonies in many Indigenous cultures to give thanks for the sustenance provided.
