Adam Smith

Born in Edina, Minnesota, and raised in Bozeman, Montana, Smith has spent 30 years surrounded by the incredible wonders of Western wildlife and has mastered the art of its accurate rendering. He studies nature with the acute eye of a scientist, yet re-creates it with the gingerly hands of a painter. He is no stranger to fine art as he is the son of famous wildlife artist Daniel Smith. But make no mistake, this young artist sets himself apart from the competition and has already garnered much success in the art world. An avid traveler and cross-country explorer, Smith finds inspiration from trips he and his father have taken to Africa, Alaska, Utah, and dozens of national parks in between.

In 2020 Smith won the Wells Fargo Two-Dimensional Award at the Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale and the Cynthia Post Buyers’ Choice Award at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum’s Small Works, Great Wonders show. In 2016 he won the Henry Farny Award for Best Painting at the Eiteljorg Museum’s Quest for the West Art Show and Sale. In 2015 he won the People’s Choice Award at the National Museum of Wildlife’s Western Visions Miniatures and More Show & Sale.

Adam Smith is represented by Astoria Fine Art, Jackson, Wyoming.
